Jenna Ortega Revisits Her Controversial Wednesday Comments

Shortly before the 2023 writers and actors strikes, Wednesday star Jenna Ortega revealed that she felt the need to rewrite some of her character’s dialogue on the set of the Netflix series. Ortega believed that the lines as written were out of character for Wednesday Addams, but her remarks weren’t well-received by Hollywood’s screenwriters. Now, Ortega has had a lot of time to reflect on what she said, and how she would have done things differently.

“I probably could have used my words better in describing all of that,” Ortega told Vanity Fair. “I think, oftentimes, I’m such a rambler. I think it was hard because I felt like had I represented the situation better, it probably would’ve been received better.”

Ortega’s comments were ridiculed on Writers Guild picket signs. That surprised Ortega, but it also taught her how to deal with the situation.

“Everything that I said felt so magnified… It felt almost dystopian to me,” said Ortega. “I felt like a caricature of…

Jamie Lee Curtis Takes On Climate Change In New Graphic Novel She Thought Of At 19

Hollywood celebrities dipping their toes into the realm of making comic books is hardly a new approach. It’s been a staple since the Jerry Lewis comics over at DC in the 1950s, but the trend has definitely been on the upswing with star Keanu Reeves on Brzkr at BOOM! Studios and Mother of Madness by Emelia Clarke, who lend their creativity and name brand to a comic.

Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis is the latest name to dabble into comics with her project, along with co-writer Russell Goldman and artist Karl Stevens. Curtis is a known anime and manga enthusiast and even officiated her daughter’s cosplay-themed wedding. The idea of doing a comic has been something rattling in her mind for 40 years, but now with Goldman and Stevens, she’s finally been able to make this idea a reality with the release of Mother Nature.

Kevin Feige Says Guardians Of The Galaxy Movies Succeeded "Entirely Because Of James Gunn"

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the end of the road for a lot of the gang, with most of the main cast saying they’re done with the MCU after this movie. Likewise, writer/director James Gunn, who has shepherded the Guardian of the Galaxy series from the start, is already co-boss of rival DC Studios–he’s not going to be making any more Marvel movies while he holds that job. Even so, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige had nothing but love for Gunn at the film’s press conference with the cast ahead of the movie’s release.

“What has this trilogy impressed upon you? Working with James, seeing his vision, watching this come to fruition and the fans reaction, what are you learning?” asked moderator Nathan Fillion, who also had a supporting role in Guardians 3.

“You know, we’ve had trilogies before. We’ve had a number of them, actually. And I was thinking, ‘Why does this feel so different and so much of a passage of some sort?'” Feige reflected on th…

Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes Ending Explained

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes takes place “many generations” after the last movie–we’re talking hundreds of years here–and so it gets to establish a new franchise status quo for how things are going on Earth. We learn about the new way of things through the eyes of Noa, a small-town chimp from the “Eagle Clan.” This young ape is thrust into a much larger world than he ever knew existed after a brief encounter with a human leads to an armed group of masked apes invading his village and killing or kidnapping everyone in the name of Caesar.

Noa, left for dead, barely manages to survive and sets out on his rescue mission–and he meets and is forced to team up with an orangutan named Raka, who tells Noa about the real Caesar from the past, and that human from earlier, a young woman named Mae. Mae is a rare human who can talk, it turns out, and her people were also killed by those masked apes.

The bad apes belong to the forces of Proximus Caesar, a wo…

Mario Creator Shigeru Miyamoto Recommends Going Outside When The Weather Is Nice

Mario creator and gaming legend Shigeru Miyamoto has weighed in on how much is too much for playing video games. Speaking to NPR, Miyamoto said playing video games a lot is not a bad thing, but only playing video games might not be the most advisable thing to do.

“I always say, if it’s really nice outside, you should go play outside,” he said.

He gives this advice to regular gamers and game designers, too. Getting out into the real world can help a person get more personal experience, which can then be funneled into other parts of their life, he said.

“If it’s a nice day, you know, go experience outside, because really, I think there’s an important factor that it’s your personal experience. Then when it links with the experience you’re having with this virtual entertainment, that’s when the joy, the fun factor, really explodes exponentially,” Miyamoto said. “And so I think it’s really important to get a lot of different life experiences for both the people…
